The Ramakrishna Vidyalaya Gurukulam is situated
in the Sri Sarada Ashram
campus. The Gurukulam is situated within the Ashram campus in a
green and healthy surrounding. The majestic Gurukulam hostel building
stands close to the Ashram shrine.
Gymnasium
Beautiful lawns and fountains in front of the hostel make the view extremely
peaceful. The Hostel building along with dormitories also houses a Gymnasium
and a Medical Centre. The medical centre gives the students periodic
medical check-up. It also provides treatement and guidence for special
diet for ill students. The children stay in the Gurukulam under the
direct care of the Sannyasins Sisters.
The Classrooms are situated surrounding a large play ground. Laboratories
and a Computer centre with all facilities are part of the
infrastructure for the students. Apart from curriculum, various
activities are designed to stimulate the interest of the students
in hobbies and to provide opportunities for self-expression and
develop mental calibre, thereby ensuring the formation of a balanced
and integrated personality.
Computer Lab
Library is the place for one's own interest.
The Gurukulam has a well-equipped library with collection of 5,500
valuable books. Time schedule/routine of the students helps them
to utilise their leisure hours to quench their thirst of ardent
reading and knowledge. A well experienced and service minded librarian
facilitates the easy secure of books and guiding the students.
Apart from the usual library session, the students are provided
with a Class Library. During this daily half an hour class
library, the students of a class are encouraged to read the same
issues and discuss. This motivates the students to develop reading
habit.
Science Lab
A well-equipped kitchen with modern
amenities incuding steam cooking plants, gas cooking plants, etc.
provide for preparation of hygienic and timely food for the students.
A spacious dining hall provides a good ambience for partaking
food. Religious and cultural songs played at the Dining hall provide
for good listening too while the students have their meal.
A well-established dairy farm provides
nutritious milk for the resident school. The Sister Nivedita
Departmental Store caters to small immediate needs of the
students.
