Emergency Ration Distribution

In poorer villages around the Ashram, during times of disaster - natural or man-made, Vivekananda Seva Pratishtan has been the first to reach out to the victims. Its relief work is dictated by the instinctive urge to provide the basic needs of the people in times of disaster - food, shelter and clothing.
During the 1997 cyclone in Ulundurpet, the ashram reached out to the needs of more than 120 families. Apart from the basic needs, medical care was also provided to the affected people.

In Thirupeyar village during an emergency in 2002, the district authorities approached the Ashram to co-ordinate relief work; they were late, the Ashram had already started its relief work the moment it had heard of an emergency situation there.

Feeding the Young Victims

Village Relief Work
Similarly, in the neighbouring Pali village, when 84 houses were gutted in a fire accident, the Sisters from the Ashram provided immediate relief - medicine, clothing and vessels for those whose houses were burnt down, ration and fuel for all the affected families.
No wonder that in the neighbourhood it is said, whenever there is a disaster, call authorities, but, also call the Sisters of the Ashram!
During the year 2000 - 2001, emergency relief work was conducted in 1 village benefiting about 400 people.

Contributions
All relief work is provided with contributions made by devotees and philanthropists. You can contribute towards the 'relief efforts' too. Contributions can be made to "Sri Ramakrishna Sarada Trust". All contributions are exempt from Income Tax through 80G.
